Housing Authority
The Juneau County Housing Authority is committed to providing safe, decent, and affordable housing for low-to-moderate income (LMI) seniors and individuals with disabilities. Our communities are designed to promote independent living in a comfortable, well-maintained environment, offering quality housing, essential amenities, and compassionate support. We are dedicated to helping residents enjoy a secure place to call home while fostering dignity, stability, and an improved quality of life throughout Juneau County.
Qualifications & Eligibility
Applicants must be 62 years of age or older or qualify as disabled.
To be considered, an application must be completed and certified eligible by the Executive Director. Once approved, applicants are placed on the waiting list based on the date their completed application is received.
Building Information
Each Housing Authority property is designed to provide safe, comfortable, and affordable living.
- All buildings are ground level with no stairs
- Stove, refrigerator, carpeting, and drapes are furnished
- Convenient coin-operated laundry facilities on-site
- Interior mail delivery available (except Stoney Hill Court in Wonewoc)

Included Utilities
Your monthly rent includes:
- Heat
- Hot Water
- Sewer Service
- Garbage Collection
Resident Responsibilities
Residents are responsible for:
- Electricity
- Television Hook-Up
- Telephone Service
A utility allowance is included and deducted from your monthly rent calculation.
Rent & Security Deposit
Monthly rent is based on 30% of your adjusted gross income after eligible medical expenses.
This income-based formula helps ensure housing remains affordable for qualifying residents.
HUD Subsidized Apartments
Your monthly rent includes:
- Maximum Rent for One Bedroom: Call for more information
- Security Deposit: Equal amount to their Total Tenant Payment (30% of your adjusted gross income)
Rural Development Apartments
Maximum Rent for One Bedroom: Call for more information
Maximum Rent for Two Bedroom: Call for more information
Security Deposit: $400
Pet Policy
One pet is permitted per apartment.
An additional $200 pet deposit is required.
